Sparking connection through strategic communication
I’ve been in media and communications for years, and I love it here.
A word nerd to my core, I’m passionate about crafting stories that move audiences to feel, think and act differently. My curiosity inspires me to ask why things are the way they are — and to look for better solutions.
With a background in journalism (newspapers) and digital media (podcasting), I bring a love of storytelling (and grammar) to every project and look for ways to help audiences connect with messages that matter.
My background
Journalism: I majored in print journalism at the University of Georgia and spent four years as a copy editor at The Augusta Chronicle. AP style runs through my veins.
Storytelling: Good stories have been the through line of my career. Whether as a writer on a pediatric healthcare system’s in-house marketing team, as a podcaster or as a communications consultant, I’ve always leaned on the power of storytelling to inspire audiences to take action.
Strategy: Tailoring the best message requires insights into the audience to develop the right approach. I ask a LOT of questions and do my research before jumping in.
My whole deal
Never met a stranger: I can talk to anyone, which really comes in handy for interviews, cross-team collaboration and SME info-sourcing. (But don’t talk to me on the plane.)
I need context: I don’t need every ounce of background to get started, but I will not hesitate to pry out the details and the “why” as we go — it makes communications better! I like to know where we’ve been, what we’re doing and where we’re headed.
Teaming up is the best: Sure, I play well alone, but partnering always makes content better. It eliminates blind spots, sparks better ideas and usually helps generate 100% more laughter.
